Missed this one. Recovering from the creeping crud, Won this one last year and dearly wanted to go back – but would not have been a good idea.

Keith Hills is a three – nines course and the toughest eighteen is the orange-black. about half of the holes are straightforward, and the other half present views off the tee that are quite deceiving. for example, the orange 2nd is a straight par 5 that is longer than one thinks from the tee. The orange 4th is a short par 4 with a cross bunker complex, and a green that tilts from the middle front and back.

But the black 2nd is a riddle to most.

From the tee the green cannot be seen. And those trees draw your eye . Takes alot of discipline to hit it out leftish – and a longer shot in.. This hole is similar in deception to the 6th hole at Tanglewood championship course — a blindish right dogleg.

More civilized scores – 74, 78, 82, 84, 86 won the championship, A, B, C, and D flights. The thing that gets me is that the Golfweek (young guys) played Saturday 17th and winning scores were 3-4 shots higher. Which drives home the point I’ve made other places; the old guys have much better control of their games especially the closer they get to the hole – better putting, chipping, and pitching, things that eschew raw athletic ability.
