The Senior Amateur Tour Central Carolina Tour tackles Chapel Ridge in Pittsboro on Thur 25 Apr. I played this course shortly after it opened 20 years ago, hard and bumpy with grass not yet in. I remember the course was so fast that tee shots hit to the right center of the fairway on 16 would roll all the way left to near the hazard line. Much has changed with the course maturing as it should.

I this year have observed a lower level of maintenance at all golf courses, undoubtedly a consequence of the current day economic challenges, so we will see.

The aerial guide is here; https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-2iieq_1DQ5l85pBy1z0QeIxlQgV6_vO/view?usp=drive_link

There are really no featured holes, as ALL are unique and the routing and especially fingered bunkers make the place special. Take the par 5 5th for example;

The aerial does not capture it all, as the tee shot works slightly uphill to the left fairway bunker, then downhill to a relatively flat layup area. A sharp sportsmanlike drive puts one in position to get home in two, slightly elevated green pretty flat.

We’ll see what happens.
