So the Forest Oaks APT Triad-Charlotte Two-day tournament is over. Day One, sunny and warm 75 degrees, and dry course. The golf ball was rolling freely and flying through the dry air as it should. SLOW GREENS; rolling smoothly, not bumpy at all, but every time out there I have only seen the fiery rolling of putts. Fairways starting to show green.

As a consequence of this, I saw more putts left short than ever in 22 years of playing amateur tours, And I mean 20 footers left 4 feet short, and putts in the jar stopping two inches short. Scoring was higher than I had expected.

Day 2 – cold rain, 50 degrees, and everyone unrecognizable in raingear, hats, etc. Greens stayed speedwise similar – staff had cut them. Several dropouts; it was actually not that miserable, since carts were on the path, and all the walking kept players warm.

Yours truly shot 83-82, to place in the money, for once. made numerous blunders – not bad shots, just blunders. THE GOLF BALL WAS NOT FLYING WELL, due to moisture and cold air. But got thru it.

Overll scoring was high for the two days, many pins tucked and hard to get to. Course was waiting for us.
